There is this funny saying in my family, started by my father. Something stupid, essentially lack of thought in general no matter what form it took, would end up eliciting the comment from someone "You'd think so-n-so would..." It didn't really matter what the rest of the sentence was...remember to put the dog in the backyard, close the fridge, put their dirty clothes in the hamper, finish their homework, blah blah blah. Obviously, the thinking was that the action should have taken place. In a perfect world. Yep...not here. I'm not sure when it was first uttered, or if it was really my father that begin the saying, but it is something I remember very fondly of my father. Nothing much, no "saved the universe" size memory. Something small, and funny, and makes me smile whenever I find myself uttering it. After someone in my current sphere says "you'd think people would..." and I catch myself simply saying "yep...and there ya go thinkin' again," the memory of my father lives on.
Love you, papa!
